greenleapoffaith: Solar City Tower, to be built with the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. This vertical structure will be built in Cotonduba Island, in front of Rio, in conjunction with the Olympics 2016, that is taking place in Brazil. The building is both an observation Tower and a welcome sign for the visitors arriving by air and by Sea at Rio de Janeiro. Designed by Zurique firm, RAAFA, Solar City Tower  features an artificial waterfall designed to generate clean, renewable energy: during the day the solar panels capture the energy needed to pump the sea water at the top, that is then conveyed through the turbines and produce the power to feed the system at night.  Source: http://www.thecreatorsproject.com 2016 Olympics architecture

1960 Everyone, not too long ago..lets not forget how far we have come. Ruby Bridges, the first African-American child to attend an all-white elementary school in the American South, escorted by U.S. Marshals dispatched by President Eisenhower for her safety, 14 November, 1960 Every morning, as Bridges walked to school, one woman would threaten to poison her. Another woman at the school put a black baby doll in a wooden coffin and protested with it outside the school, a sight that Bridges Hall has said “scared me more than the nasty things people screamed at us.” 1960…2012…..I will seriously be happier when people with this mindset, who are still living, are in heaven and their backwards thinking is wiped out of this country.
